Hal Peller has been a facilitator of Spolin Improvisation since 1981.   Hal is currently facilitating Improvisation Workshops in New York City.  His improvisation workshops were nominated for an "INNY Award, "Best Improvisation Workshop"." He has also coached the Harold Team, 'Eskimo Dance’, for which he was also nominated for "Best Coach." Hal has directed the Little Britches (an all women comedy group) and Brooklyn Improv Group (BIG).  He directed “The Fine Young Comedians”, a teen sketch comedy group that performed at Stand-Up New York and featured on ABC FAMILY TV. Hal facilitated workshops at the Broadway Theater Institute including “Improvisation for the Theater”, “Theater Games for Non-Actors”, “Theater Games for Teachers (Staff Development)”, and “Corporate Management Training”.  Hal coaches stand-up comedians and theater companies throughout the world.

 Hal ' s corporate work includes Fortune 500  companies such as NEC, GE Financial Services, Insight Solutions for Business and the Pulte Group.  Also, international companies such as Petronas Energy, and Asian Aviation Center of Excellence in Malaysia. Also, GIC Private Limited and Neoedge in Singapore. Hal is a Certified Practitioner of Applied Improvisation Network. 

 Hal conducted hundreds of seminars and workshops worldwide and presented at national conferences on ‘Quality’, ‘Process Improvement’, ‘Customer Satisfaction’, and ‘Leadership’.  After Hal received his “Lean-Six Sigma” certification in 2012, he conducted over 40 Lean Kaizan events throughout North America and helped to identify millions of dollars in waste for the building industry. He has worked “one on one” with CEO’s, and senior management as a change agent, helping move their corporate culture in a positive direction. Hal was authorized by OSHA to present outreach workshops on safety for the construction industry.  Hal was also a faculty associate at Park University and conducted classes on public speaking and creative leadership throughout North America.

 In 1984, Hal Peller founded Pro-Peller Construction, a company recognized for excellence in the restoration of historic and landmark properties such as the Ellis Island Museum, the Smithsonian Institute’s Cooper-Hewitt Museum, Central Park Conservancy’s Swedish Cottage and Prospect Park’s Leffert’s Homestead Children’s Museum. Based in New York, Pro-Peller Construction has been referred by the highly regarded trade publications Old House Journal, Traditional Building and The New York Landmark Conservancy Restoration Directory, as well as in Architectural Digest, Victoria Magazine. 

 Hal studied with Paul Sills, David Shepherd, Del Close and Martin Harvey Friedberg of Chicago’s Second City Theater. 

He did stand-up comedy in the 1970’s, then in the 1980’s became the founding Artistic Director and a cast member of the “Port Authority Theater Ensemble”, a New York improv group.

Hal has served on the Boards of The Broadway Theater Institute and The Women’s Resource Center of New York.
